The Harcor Bandstand
The Harcor Bandstand is one of the oldest surviving structures in Ollquenford. It was designed by the engineer Hedda Sevbrinvel and completed in 1901. The structure stands 59 metres tall.
Hedda Sevbrinvel drew up the plans after a public subscription raised funds for the project. Construction took three seasons, using stone quarried a few miles inland. When it opened in 1901, local newspapers described it as the most ambitious public work the town had attempted.
The Harcor Bandstand was restored in the late twentieth century and remains a familiar landmark for residents and visitors.
